Multiply fractions

Today we were learning how to multiply fraction. So I had a ¾ of 16 so what you have to do is.

¾ of 16.

¾ X 16 = x

Then you have to put it in four groups and then take 3 groups away. Count how many counters are in that tree groups. When you do that you will have your answer.

= 12

I really like how you explained how to multiply fractions using that technique. I was also on the mat with you and I learnt exactly the same. Did you know there are many other ways of multiplying fractions?
