Science - Elephant toothpaste

Today we did the elephant toothpaste experiment. The whole process was about chemical reaction. We splat into three different groups and began the experiment.There were certain ingredients needed. The ingredients needed were:

1. Food colouring
2. Water
3. Dishwashing liquid
4. Hydrogen peroxide
5. Yeast

First we added the hydrogen peroxide. Then we mixed the yeast with hot water. After we added food colouring then we added dishwashing liquid. Finally when we added the the yeast and the the reaction began. The elephant toothpaste flew out of the cup and onto the paper. It was just amazing to the chemical reaction.

Construct a hypothesis( make a guess) : The paper will burn.

Conduct the experiment

Record your observations and data colour change, The colour change to grey and some bits were black.

Analyse information. Colour change to grey and black. Temperature change from cold to hot. Smoke to show the release of gas . Irreversible process

Report results: The paper burnt and there was a colour change of grey and black. The temperature change was from cold to hot. There was also a release of gas, which was the smoke.
